Bolkvest is issuing a clear and firm response to the malicious smear campaign currently being pushed by a competing security company and/or its owner. These individuals have deliberately attempted to resurface a baseless and long-closed racism claim in a cowardly and malicious attempt to damage Bolkvest’s reputation. For the record Bolkvest and its representative, Eben Saunderson, were never found guilty of any wrongdoing.
We consider this behavior not only defamatory but deeply unprofessional and unethical. Bolkvest has received multiple reports of harassment and threats directed toward its leadership over the past week. This includes disturbing claims by an individual that they have recorded private conversations — without consent — a potential criminal offense.
Legal Notice Regarding Unauthorized Recordings and Public Disclosure
Bolkvest is aware of claims that an individual has unlawfully recorded private conversations and is now threatening to release or use these recordings publicly. Under South African law — specifically the Regulation of Interception of Communications and Provision of Communication-Related Information Act (RICA) — while a person may record a conversation they are part of, any unauthorized public disclosure of such recordings may constitute a breach of privacy, defamation, or crimen injuria, all of which are subject to civil and criminal liability.
Bolkvest reserves all legal rights and will not hesitate to take immediate action — including legal proceedings — should any unlawfully obtained, out of context, and/ or publicly misused material be released with the intent to defame, harass, or cause reputational harm.
Bolkvest is not interested in playing games. We are not afraid of confrontation, and we do not cower from baseless accusations. “If this individual truly believes in their claims, I challenge them to sit down with me publicly — on the record — and say it to my face, so both sides and all information, messages and threats can be heard as there is always more than one side to a story" said Eben. “Currently, we are witnessing cowardice and slander from the shadows with the dishonest intent to shape perceptions and mislead and usurp Bolkvest’s clients.”
This entire situation is unwarranted, unprovoked, and has no foundation in truth. Bolkvest is actively considering legal action should this harassment continue.
